Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Committee

In the heart of Lakeland Care’s unwavering commitment to “Empowering Individuals, Strengthening Communities, and Inspiring Futures” a Lakeland Care Mission moment unfolds. The beacon of this transformative journey is Lakeland Care’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging committee, a shining testament to our dedication to inclusivity and belonging.

The committee meets routinely to discuss inclusive ways that advance Lakeland Care’s mission and is dedicated to raising organizational awareness around cultural differences and celebrations. The primary goal is to effectively integrate the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion into Lakeland Care’s policy or philosophically driven decisions and ensure all staff feel empowered and supported.

The DEI&B committee is filled with individuals who strive to infuse our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging into the fabric of Lakeland Care, ensuring that our policies and decisions are not just words on paper but manifest in our daily actions.

Recent strides illuminate our path toward progress. Regular and ongoing communication and resources around cultural awareness, ongoing education surrounding DEI&B, education and implementation of the use of pronouns in the workplace, education on suicide risk and available support and resources. Additional efforts include coordination of volunteer opportunities related to the LGBTQ community and PRIDE festivities, review of organizational documents to ensure inclusive language is being utilized, ongoing efforts to increase the presence of the DEI&B mission with ease and accessibility for staff. These efforts in turn, create a work culture where every individual empowered, valued, and truly thrives!
